Sunday 1st saw Soul Food bring the beat back to Chip Shop, Brixton with top tier sets from Che Lingo, Kieron Boothe and Soul Purpose.

When I first heard Soul Food was heading down to Brixton's Chip Shop at the start of the month, the sentimental feelings instantly kicked in. It felt like far too long since I'd had the pleasure of seeing a classic Soul Food line-up fill a room and get the floor pumping with soul beats and passionate bars.

Sunday night was no different. Sets from the likes of Che Lingo, Kieron Boothe and the Soul Purpose boys themselves had the whole floor bouncing. Chip Shop's intimate atmosphere and ample plates were the perfect complement to Soul Food's relaxing, welcoming vibe.

The Natural Aggregate will be sharing more information about Soul Food's next event very soon.

Hear: Cleft

Turbo-prog duo Cleft announced they'll split this year after five years of service but they've made plans to go out with a bang.

Tickets for their Wrong Tour are already feeling thin on the ground and the nation's noisiest nerds have just announced Wrong, their final LP, will be available on digital release on 9 May.

The most enticing aspect of this offering is the publishing of opening track, Frankenstein. For dedicated Cleft fans, it's exactly what they've been waiting for and would suggest this year's split has nothing to do with a slump in form.

Wrong will be pressed to a transparent blue and yellow splatter heavweight 180g vinyl with artwork by the talented, and probably not the drag queen, Jessica Wild. The band are also offering a limited CD and a digital download of their discography from their time on this earth.

Hear: Nomad Soul Collective

Forever comes from Nomad Soul Collective's 2014 EP of the same name. 18 months on, Nomad remains the finest music to breath to.

Forever is an apt title from every angle. Not only does this track remain with the listener for many days past listening, it feels like the time we've now known Nomad Soul Collective. It's difficult to take that Murmuration was brought to our attention in 2011, and five years on we're still equally passionate about it.

2015 saw NSC grace many prestigious London stages and our anticipation for more from them this summer can barely be contained. Follow Nomad Soul Collective on social media here:
